MARITIMO RE-ENGINEERING ELANDRA TO MAKE AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALASIA

Iconic Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo has started the process of re-engineering and simplifying the build process of the sports yacht brand Elandra after its buyout last month.

Maritimo CEO Garth Corbitt said the buyout of the company added yet another product line to the existing range of Maritimo motoryachts and provided additional diversification.

He said Elandra would be offered throughout the company’s Australasian dealer network.

He said the Elandra designs had significant synergies with the Maritimo product including bi-fold doors, aft galleys, walk around decks, a full beam master and shaft drive propulsion.

Maritimo has one Elandra 53 in stock and that will be available for sale prior to Christmas this year.

Maritimo’s General Manager Operations, Phil Candler, said a complete review of the Elandra design and manufacturing process was underway to simplify the build process and introduce the economies of scale that would be a positive in the future.

He said moving forward Maritimo would identify potential Elandra customers and then conduct focus groups before embarking on future model development.

Candler said changes introduced in future models would include detailed information gleaned from customer focus groups and design input from our internal and external design team. This would also include Maritimo’s engineering design expertise already being used in   their engine room, head and bathroom liners.

A new Elandra range will be developed once focus groups and the overall revision had been completed.
